About Pollenca

The medieval town of Pollenca is a 15-20 minute walk away from the villa and boasts many fine restaurants within its winding cobbled streets.  The town square is surrounded by eateries and is a favourite spot for families as children can run around safely while the parents enjoy dinner.  Despite its popularity, Pollenca remains traditionally Mallorquin and unspoilt.  At one end of town are the 365 steps leading up to the Calvari church, from where you will find fabulous views towards the sea.  At the other end of town you can see the Puig Maria - a rocky hill topped by a monastery.  The 25 minute walk up the Puig Maria is a little strenuous but worth it for the beautiful scenery and panoramic views of the island.

About Puerto Pollenca

The port and beach town of Puerto Pollenca is only a 10 minute drive from Pollenca, and is a popular, safe and friendly holiday destination.  The Southern end of the bay (Llenaire or Gonmar) has the widest sandy beach, and however busy the season, it never feels crowded.  There is plenty of free parking along the front, and the sea is clear and calm and shelves very gently.  The waters are teeming with fish which makes for great snorkelling.  Heading north past the harbour, the seafront is pedestrianised and lined with small hotels and restaurants.  The beach narrows as you head North, and is fringed with pine trees.  This is known as the Pines Walk and is a beautiful spot to eat out.  Families will enjoy the fact that children can play on the beach within view of the restaurants.  Puerto Pollenca is very popular with couples and families.  There are no nightclubs or large hotels in the area, but plenty of life if you look for it.

Things to do

There are so many things to do in Mallorca, and being a fairly small island, everything is accessible.  One of the nicest ways to spend a day or two is simply exploring the island.  we provide a comprehensive guide to sightseeing and activities in the villa's directory, and are happy to forward you any details or answer any questions you may have.  These are a few of the main (non-beach) activities.

•Golf (Pollenca Golf course is very close to the villa)

•Walking of all levels (from gentle to downright crazy)

•Exploring the many cave systems on the island

•Sightseeing the many beautiful towns, villages, monasteries and castles

•Shopping in Palma

•Dining out

•Fishing (both grown-up and the more fun version - see our quick guide attached)

•Winetasting - many vineyards are very close to the villa

Who owns the villa and who looks after guests?

The Harrison Family from London bought the villa in 2011, having visited the area for many years and fallen in love with it. The Harrisons have two young children and believe there is no better place for a relaxing, fun holiday than this area of Mallorca. The weather is good, but rarely unbearably hot, the people are friendly, the food and wine are wonderful, the beaches and countryside are breathtaking.

Our trusted local team cleans and maintains the property and pool. Our manager Kirsty is English, but born and bred in Pollenca, so can help with just about anything from finding the best wines, to helping out if you lose your passport.

Car Hire

We always use one of the smaller car hire firms on the island as there can be huge queues in the airport terminal if you go with one of the big names.  We are happy to recommend a couple of such firms on request.

The Harrisons have been using the services of Little Puffs Mallorca for several years and would happily recommend Susan and her team.  You can book your childcare (daytime or evening) before you come, and Susan will come to the Villa, or take the children out, whatever your preference.  You can find out more and check out the testimonials by clicking on:

Other services

If there is anything else you need, such as extra equipment for babies, or help booking a venue for a special occasion, we would be more than happy to help.
